Message from Amy Loder re STOP/SASP Award Extensions

Because the information included in the below email is so important, we wanted to send it out to you even though it is likely that you have already received it from OVW.

Here’s the update from Amy Loder/OVW:

Good morning.

I hope you are all healthy and adjusting well to the current circumstances.

We have received several questions about SASP and STOP award extensions. Currently, all of the FY 2017 and FY 2018 SASP and STOP Formula awards are open; there are a small number of open FY 2016 SASP and STOP Formula awards. OVW is going to extend all of these awards by 12 months. We will extend these awards on your behalf. You do not have to submit a Project Period GAN. If you have already submitted a GAN we will either process or deny it, depending on the date of submission. Regardless, you do not need to take any action at this time concerning an open FY 16, 17, or 18 award. If you have an open FY 2015 award your Program Manager should have already contacted you to discuss the status of this award.

As a reminder, the SASP Formula solicitation closes on April 14, 2020 and the STOP Formula solicitation closes on April 30, 2020. We are not extending the application deadlines. You should have received notification concerning this matter from Melissa Schmisek (SASP Formula) or myself (STOP Formula). If you are not able to submit an application by the deadlines we ask that you begin the application process and submit something in GMS so you are in the system. Your Program Manager will work with you to get the remaining documents into GMS at a later date. Please contact your Program Manager if you anticipate having difficulties submitting your application, or if you have any questions.

As a final reminder, the deadline for the Rape Survivor Child Custody Act (RSCCA) has been extended. There are two deadlines:

  1. States and territories that did not receive RSSCA funding in FY 2016, 2017, 2018, or 2019 – OVW will accept legal opinions up to July 1, 2020.
  2. States and territories that received RSCCA funds in FY 2016, 2017, 2018, or 2019 – OVW will accept compliance letters up to August 1, 2020.

States and territories must submit the legal opinion or the certification letter to OVW at OVW.RSCCA@usdoj.gov by 11:59 p.m. E.T. on the applicable date specified above.

Please contact your Program Manager if you have any questions about the information above.

Be well,

Amy
