8:30 am – 4:00 pmAVA invites you to the second in a series of Peer-to-Peer Regional Meetings for STOP Administrators. Learning from each other provides some of the most valuable training available. This meeting offers the opportunity to talk to one another about the way we administer VAWA funds. AVA’s regional meeting is open to both new and seasoned administrators and their staff, offering a time to network and share challenges and expertise in the day-to-day management of the STOP Formula Grant Program. This is intended to be an interactive discussion forum attended solely by STOP administrators and their staff – you may bring more than one per state.When: Wednesday, October 5th

We will be sending out a formal agenda in the near future; however, the following are some of the topics to be covered during the meeting. We invite you to submit additional topics you may be interested in when you register.

· Tracking category percentages;
· Funding strategies and meeting the statutory set-asides;
· Carrying monies over year to year to fill in gaps in funding areas;
· Managing returned monies;
· Reporting challenges (including close-out reports) and red flag reports;
· Budgeting;
· Monitoring challenging sub-grantee programs.

This meeting is open to both member and non-member states and territories and, when you register, we invite you to send any documents or tools we can share with other participants that help you in your daily work, e.g. spreadsheets, tracking forms, notification letters, etc. Registration is required and attendance is limited to 30 administrators and staff – you can bring more than one person per state. There is no registration fee and lunch will be provided. AVA cannot cover all travel expenses but has some limited scholarship funds to help with airfare should you need assistance to attend. You can book your room by using this link; you’ll see the reference to the AVA Board and Peer to Peer meetings. We’ve negotiated a room rate of $159 per night. Parking is available for $28 per night and shuttle service to/from the airport is approximately $10 each way.

This second regional meeting follows the successful meeting AVA held in Arizona in January. We will likely be coordinating another meeting after the first of the year. Location to be announced.
