AVA Annual Meeting – June 4, 2026 – 2:00 pm EST

Dear all,
We are excited to invite you to our Annual Meeting, scheduled on Thursday, June 4 2026, 2:00pm – 3:30pm (ET). This gathering will be a time for reflection, celebration, and envisioning our path forward.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
During the meeting, Board members and the Executive Director will share:
  • Key highlights and major accomplishments from the past year
  • Updates from Board subcommittees (Finance, Communications, and Website)
  • Our vision and priorities for the upcoming year
We will also create space to hear from you. We welcome your insights on member needs and engagement, emerging trends, and areas AVA should consider as we prepare for our upcoming Strategic Planning process.
We are also thrilled to announce that we are recruiting for five Board members to join our leadership team! Several current Board members will be seeking another term, and we welcome individuals from member organizations who have demonstrated a commitment to AVA’s mission and core values—and who bring diverse perspectives and lived experience—to apply.
If you are interested in applying, please review the attachments (Who We Are and Board Member Pledge) and return the completed Election Questionnaire by close of business on Monday, May 18, 2026. This timeline ensure members have adequate time to review all applications before the Annual Meeting.
 
Board Recruitment Process and Timeline: 
  • All submitted applications will be sent out to all member organizations currently in good standing, with 2025-2026 membership dues paid and contact information up to date.
  • Members will review applications prior to the Annual Meeting
  • All applicants will give a brief (2-3 minute) presentation during the Annual Meeting to share more about themselves and their interest in joining the Board
  • During or immediately following the Annual Meeting, member organizations will cast their votes for new board members (one vote per state)
  • New board members will be announced via the listserv and email by Monday, June 8, 2026
  • Onboarding sessions with the Executive Director will take place on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 1:00pm (ET) 
  • New board members will attend first Board meeting on Friday, June 12, 2026 @ 1:00pm (ET)
