AVA Connect – New Opportunities for Networking!
Please take a look and let us know which date works best for you. These recent months have demonstrated that we can all collectively stay apart to protect one another. In staying apart, we do not want to lose that social connection between each other as VAWA administrators. Over the next few months AVA is planning to host something we would like to call AVA Connect. These virtual get-togethers are informal opportunities to stay socially connected with each other as peers in a meaningful way. The most important part of AVA Connect is to give you a chance to talk about whatever is most on your mind, ask questions and share ideas. We want to create that round-table space, where we would have a cup of hotel coffee and muffins and check in with each other. We want to make it easy for you to participate and share challenging experiences you have had over the past few months or significant successes that might be helpful for others to know.
We will be meeting via Zoom, with alternating AVA Board members serving as facilitator for each meeting.
With Zoom it can be difficult for everyone to have equal time to speak, share their perspective or get questions answered. With that in mind, we are limiting each hour-long Zoom conversation to the first 12-15 VAWA administrators that sign up.
Please email our AVA Director, Barry Bryant, avadirectorbb@gmail.
A unique zoom link will be sent to you the day before with login instructions. This will allow for shared conversation where all can have an opportunity to participate.
If multiple staff from a state wish to participate we ask that you divide up and attend different conversations so more states can be represented on each call.
Dates and times for the first three AVA Connect conversations:
· July 30th at 1:00pm EST AVA Connect, Facilitated by AVA Board President Julia Fuller- Wilson
· August 27th at 3:00pm EST AVA Connect, Facilitated by AVA Past-President MaryEllen Garcia
· Sept 22nd at 2:00 EST AVA Connect, Facilitated by AVA Treasurer, Cecilia Miller
We look forward to seeing your faces and/or hearing your voices!
Take care and stay safe!
